Is being healthy a top priority for you?

Where do you live? This can be the right question to start a casual conversation, but this is also a question that can start a discussion about the healthcare system in the United States. Not all states are created equal when it comes to health services, and many seniors are affected by this.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a real challenge in some places, and it is just sad when you realize that this should be one of the easiest things to get access to. Most people want to have a happy and fulfilling life, and this is not possible in all places in this country.

For example, there are some states that can be found at the bottom of the list when it comes to healthcare. It might be because it is too expensive or because the services that are offered are of a really low quality, but in the end what matters is that not everyone can get access to top healthcare, and where you live highly influences this.

So, we’ve made a list of the worst states for seniors to live in if they want to have access to top healthcare. Here, nothing like this is guaranteed, and for some, the wisest decision would be to just move to another place. Read on and discover if your health is in danger!

I lived in Taos, New Mexico for twenty years until I moved in 2020 to be closer to my son. I am now in my late eighties. The medical care in Taos, Espanola, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque was superior to anywhere else I have lived

Look closely… there are numbers 1 through 5, in brownish ovals. Click on those numbers and it takes you page by page through the list of states.

The location within your state might allow a neighboring state to affect your healthcare.

For example, where I am in eastern California the nearest hospital with necessary specialists and a bed available might be in Nevada. In my remote location, even though it’s 200 miles away, it’s common for patients to be flown to Reno.

Even if we’re sent to a California hospital it’s at 150 miles away.
