Take care of your skin by eating these delicious foods:

As we age, we have to take more care of our bodies. And if you’re a woman, you know the struggle with wrinkles and other issues. After I turned 45, I understood how important it is to look out for my skin’s health and include in my diet foods that will help me improve its look. But what do you do when the list of those foods isn’t that appealing?

Well, let me tell you a secret. In this article, I will give you my daily list of foods that weren’t exactly my favorites when I started following this new diet. But eventually, they grew on me, so now I can proudly call them delicious foods that help you enhance your skin health! The number one is:

1. Watermelon

…Mmm watermelon! I honestly don’t know any people who dislike this fruit. Watermelon, according to its name, contains over 90% water, making it a delicious option for keeping yourself hydrated and promoting healthy skin from the inside out. In addition to being a fantastic source of water intake, it’s also a terrific source of vitamin C and antioxidants that support the skin, such as beta-carotene and lycopene.
Watermelon is one of those delicious foods that I eat often because it contains the amino acid L-citrulline, which is essential for maintaining healthy blood circulation, which is important for skin cells.

2. Spinach

Having healthy skin when you’re older seems like a challenge, but it shouldn’t be if you include some of these delicious foods in your daily diet. Spinach is my second recommendation, based on various dermatological studies. Packed with antioxidants and rich in vitamins K, E, A, and C, iron, and magnesium, spinach can be consumed in salads (baby spinach leaves) or sautéed with onions and other vegetables that you enjoy.

Furthermore, if you want healthy and glowing skin, spinach can help you achieve this. Spinach helps produce collagen to maintain young-looking, smooth skin because of its high vitamin C concentration.

Add a handful of baby spinach leaves, a tablespoon of olive oil, and a pinch of salt, and there you go! A healthy and tasty salad is done in less than 5 minutes.

3. Sweet potatoes

Many people simply dislike these innocent vegetables, and I don’t know why. It can be because potatoes are usually a salty side dish, and it can be hard to include sweet potatoes next to your steak, for example. But let me tell you something: once, I was like that too. In fact, I considered them an “acquired taste” until I discovered that if you cook them accordingly, they can be a portion of very delicious food.

Jam-packed with beta-carotene, sweet potatoes can help you naturally restore the elasticity of your skin. This tasty root vegetable is thought to be a carbohydrate, but the good thing is that it’s a complex carb, which helps you feel satiated for a long time, and it’s also an excellent provider of vitamins C and E, which may both help to preserve healthy skin!

4. Tomatoes

Everyone who desires healthy skin must include tomatoes in their daily diet. Tomatoes are easily found year-round in all supermarkets, which makes it super easy to consume them whenever you’re craving a salad.

Lycopene, a potent antioxidant that helps guard your skin from UV damage, is present in tomatoes. However, that does not imply that you may stop using SPF cream! According to a recent study, giving tomatoes and lycopene supplements to those who had severe acne and skin pigmentation improved their skin’s appearance and decreased redness.

5. Organ meats

Although organ meats like kidney, gizzard, and heart aren’t as popular as beef, turkey, or chicken, they’re still some of the most abundant protein sources to receive the vitamins and minerals you need for healthy, clear skin. Beef liver is one of those delicious foods that, for 85 grams, covers the daily needs of minerals, copper, and collagen.

In addition, organ meats are a great source of zinc and vitamin A, two nutrients that promote skin that looks younger and radiant!

6. Papaya

This incredibly mouth-watering fruit is rich in minerals, vitamins, and, more importantly, antioxidants that contribute to your overall health. Although just the inside of the papaya is eaten, the peel and seeds also have a phytochemical value that can benefit your heart, eyes, and immune system, as well as having anti-tumor properties.

Papaya contains vitamins D, E, C, and A, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, and B vitamins. Wow, that’s a great combo, for sure! Besides helping you have healthy skin, consuming papaya at least twice a week can also provide a lot of other benefits, and improved digestion is one of them.

Eat it raw or mixed with other fruits in a tasty salad. For bright and nourished skin, add two teaspoons of honey and two tablespoons of lemon juice to a cup of mashed papaya. Blend the paste and apply it to your face. After ten minutes, rinse with cold water. This is definitely better than any other face mask you’ll find in stores!

…psst! Did I manage to convince you to include sweet potatoes in your diet? If so, but you don’t know how to cook them, I have an amazing recipe book from which I got my inspiration. Potato Recipes: Sweet Potato Recipes That We Can Try is like a “bible” for all the gourmands who enjoy eating potatoes and keep themselves young and healthy. Plus it has a formidable price on Amazon, just $6.99!

7. Kimchi

If you’re a fan of delicious foods with an Asian twist, then you’re going to love kimchi. For those who aren’t exactly familiar with this vegetable, kimchi is a sort of cabbage that contributes to a healthy gut.

A healthy stomach is necessary for having skin that is both radiant and attractive. Consuming food that is high in fiber, which feeds friendly microorganisms, and probiotics, or good bacteria, is one of the greatest methods to improve skin health.

Kimchi is a form of fermented cabbage pickled in a jar with other savory ingredients, including onions, carrots, cucumbers, and radishes. In addition to having a pleasant flavor, kimchi is a great source of vitamins A and C. You can find kimchi in regular stores, along with other Asian specialties. I buy mine from Costco whenever I find it at a discount!

8. Cherries

What’s not to like about cherries? Besides taste, they’re also rich in antioxidants, and as you already know, they help protect skin cells against UV damage. Make sure you include them in your diet for a healthy heart, normal blood pressure, and nourished, glowing skin.

Plus, if you have trouble sleeping, you can eat a cup of cherries before bedtime. It works wonders for me, at least. And you already know how important it is to sleep at least 7 hours per night to have healthy skin and a healthy body!
