2. KB Toys
My Aunt Sarah worked as a seamstress in the ’90s, and sometimes, she’d ask me to take care of my cousin Fred when both she and my uncle were at work. Can you guess one of Fred’s favorite activities back then? Going to KB Toys! It was a staple in malls across the United States, and kids were always in a frenzy when they stepped inside.
This ’90s store was the perfect place to spend an energizing afternoon. With its endless toy selections and colorful displays, KB Toys was a heaven on Earth for kids. While it was beloved by children and adults alike, it faced stiff competition.
After filing for bankruptcy twice, once in 2004 and again in 2008, KB Toys eventually closed all its stores. But hey, even though it’s gone, this store will always hold a special place in our hearts—especially for Fred and me.
