Since no balanced diet is complete without whole grains, nutritionists say you should get at least three ounces every day. You can eat rice (I think brown one is the best), 1-2 slices of bread, whole-grain cereals, and even pasta.

Don’t consume too much salt because it’s rich in sodium, and it’s best to keep your blood pressure down and cook with oils instead of solid fats. Other than that, try to stay away from refined carbs, processed foods, and unhealthy fats as much as possible, and you’ll live your best life for years to come.

3. Move your body

Besides helping you shed pounds, look lean and strong, have more energy, and burn more calories even while resting, exercise is great because it lowers your risk of heart disease, cancer, and depression. It also lowers your stress levels, improves your mood, helps you sleep better at night, keeps your skin and bones healthy, and helps you retain your mobility longer.

Experts recommend you do 2.5. to 5 hours of moderate-intensity exercise per week or 1.25 to 2.5 hours per week of vigorous-intensity aerobic exercise if you want to burn more calories and do more intense workouts. Some examples of aerobic exercise include walking, dancing, cycling, hiking, and swimming.

Moreover, don’t forget to build some muscles too, because they’re the ones that keep you strong, looking fine, and burning calories. You should do strength training exercises at least two times a week so that your body stays fit. You can do these exercises with weights, such as these, or with resistance bands.

6. Take care of your mouth

If you want to live your best life, you have to take care of your mouth. Yes, it might sound funny, but your smile won’t look as brilliant as it does unless you don’t treat your teeth with the care they deserve. And it’s not all about aesthetics; doctors say that this could also put you at risk for gum disease, which can lead to stroke, bacterial pneumonia, and heart disease.

Even though you might have a proper oral care routine (brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing once a day, using a mouth rinse, and probably using an oral irrigator too), you still need to go to see your dentist regularly.
